Port of Lisbon hosts Portugal Shipping Week

The Port of Lisbon will host Portugal Shipping Week 2024 from May 6th to 10th, featuring various initiatives in Lisbon and Setúbal dedicated to decarbonizing maritime transport and ports, and how all stakeholders (national governments, ports, terminals, and the maritime community) are preparing for this challenge.
The third edition of this event is organized by Petrospot in partnership with the Port of Lisbon Administration, the Port of Setúbal Administration, the Portuguese Ports Association, the Portuguese Shipowners Association, Euromar, Galp, and the Nautical School Infante D. Henrique.
Portugal Shipping Week 2024 (PSW2024) aims to position Portugal as a global center for maritime transport and logistics and an increasingly important player in the European and global energy transition.
During this week, shipowners, foreign managers, energy suppliers, and representatives from all maritime disciplines have the opportunity to develop new business relationships with leaders in the Portuguese maritime and alternative energy sectors, as well as with key international stakeholders.
For the first day, May 6th, training on Alternative Fuels is scheduled at the Nautical School Infante D. Henrique, followed by the celebration of the school's 100th anniversary. Also on this day, the headquarters of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) in Lisbon will host the Training Workshop on Emissions Implications.
On Tuesday, May 7th, the Alcântara Maritime Terminal will host the "Flagship," the most emblematic conference of the meeting, dedicated to maximizing commercial potential and adopting green economy, concluding with a cruise on the Tagus River, promoted by the Port of Lisbon Administration.
The Flagship Conference will feature various speakers, including the President of the Board of Directors of the Ports of Lisbon, Setúbal, and Sesimbra, Carlos Correia, the Ambassador of Greece to Portugal, Vassilis Papadopoulos, the Ambassador of Denmark to Portugal, Lars Steen Nielsen, and the Head of Economic Affairs of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Jakob Jurczyk-Bäumer.
On May 8th and 9th, the ship.energy summit takes place, integrated into the EISAP Shipping Forum, also held at the Alcântara Maritime Terminal. Thursday is dedicated to a visit to the Port of Lisbon, specifically to the Yilport Container Terminal and the Lisbon Cruise Terminal, ending with the PSW2024 EUROMAR dinner at the Maritime Museum.
On the last day of Portugal Shipping Week 2024, May 10th, participants will visit the Port of Setúbal and the Lisnave Shipyard.
