Lisbon, modern and cosmopolitan, is famous for its unique light but also for the mild climate that allow wonderful walks to the city. It is a city that does not forget their traditions and live them with pride - fado and popular festivals in Lisbon are important examples. Full of charm, Lisbon offers many opportunities for tourists that visit the city, from a wide cultural offer and with regular events throughout the year. 

Lisbon, one of the oldest capitals of Europe, gives the visitor the opportunity to choose from a wide range of places of historical interest accessible from the port, including museums like the National Museum of ancient art, the Coach Museum, the National Museum of tiles, the Fado Museum, the Museu do Orient Museum, the Caloust Gulbenkian Museum and the Berardo Contemporary and Modern Art Collection, monuments particulary the St. Jorge's Castle, the St. Anthony Church, the Jerónimos Monastery, the Belém Tower, the Monument of Discoveries and the National Palace Nacional of Ajuda. The Parque das Nações, where the World Exhibition of 1998 took place, is also a reference for the city and houses the Lisbon Oceanarium, the Pavillion of Knowledge Living Science and the Casino Lisbon that in addition to the halls of games, has restaurants and show rooms for exhibitions and live shows.

The Historic neighborhoods are located mostly in central Lisbon; the historic quarters of Alfama, Bairro Alto and Baixa Pombalina are also mandatory destination for anyone who is travelling to the capital of Portugal. These neighborhoods are a structural part of the Lisbon’s identity and offer to those who want to discover them moments of great emotion.

For sport lovers the region of Lisbon has several facilities for the practice of sports, from the water, the tennis, not forgetting the 13 playing fields for golf, some of which designed by famous architects in the world.

Shopping in Lisbon is an experience of diversity and pleasure. From the more traditional shops to large shopping malls one can find the most important Portuguese brands to the international ones it is possible to find in Lisbon.

Gastronomy, wine, the simple act of sharing a meal or having a drink with friends is a pleasure that one can experience in Lisbon.

Other tourist destinations

Sintra (to 31 Km from Lisbon), World Heritage, is considered one of the most luxurious and romantic towns that inspired many poets and writers. In Sintra one can find some unique monuments: Seteais Palace, Monserrate Palace and gardens, Nacional Palace of Pena and Nacional Palace of Sintra

Estoril/Cascais (to 34 Km from Lisbon), privileged area for those who like the sea, golf and some charm.

Fátima (to 127 Km from Lisbon), world famous as a place of pilgrimage, has three key monuments classified World Heritage: Alcobaça MonasteryBatalha Monastery and the Convent of Christ, which once was home to Templars.

Óbidos (to 101 KM from Lisbon), medieval village within the walls of the castle, is classified as a national monument.

Costa Azul (a 45 Km de Lisboa), known by the natural beauty of the banks of the estuary of Sado, marking the beaches of Troy, by Sierra Arrábida and Setúbal, is one of the most beautiful of Portugal. It can also see dolphins, but its banks are discovering that the most beautiful riches, particularly natural.
