Designation
Rehabilitation of the Augusto Cabrita Embankment, in Barreiro
Description
The Embankment of Augusto Cabrita Riverside has shown signs of progressive degradation throughout its useful life, evidenced by the slide of the prism protection rock to its base. In some sections, the concrete lintel of the retaining crown is barefoot, due to the progressive sliding of the rockfill prism that serves as the base. Given that intervention is required, APL decided to adopt a definitive repair solution, covering the entire extension of the marginal protection of Passeio Augusto Cabrita, plus the marginal front of Clube Naval Barreirense and lateral embankment, in a total extension of 580 linear meters.

The first phase of the Oriental Riverside Park (Parque Ribeirinho Oriental) is completed. This project was developed in an area that was mainly municipal domain and a smaller part was port jurisdiction (the Port Jurisdiction was mainly composed by a small strip of land in the area further down the park, surrounding the Cais da Matinha bridge).
This green park that starts next to the warehouses of the Poço do Bispo dock and extends to the north along 600 meters, occupies a total area of four hectares along the Tagus River. A project by the F / C studio, by landscape architects Catarina Assis Pacheco and Filipa Cardoso de Menezes, completely changed the way of living this Lisbon area.
Along with more than 360 new trees, there are two walking paths: a riverside and an interior path that develops inside the green area.
During the tour you will find five “solar sculptures”, designed specifically for this place, geometric shapes that cast shadows on their surroundings and also work as a sundial.
For the children, there is a new playground; some marine containers where converted into two cafeterias, a space for bicycle rental, public sanitary facilities, a library module and one for park maintenance Office.
The construction of this new park is divided into two phases: the second is still incomplete. It will create a continuous green park until the Parque das Nações and will merge with the future Parque Interior da Matinha.
On February 21, 2018, a protocol was signed between the Municipality of Lisbon, the Ministry of Defense, the Navy, the Ministry of the Sea and APL-Administration of Porto de Lisboa, SA with the objective of rehabilitation of the Campo das Cebolas area and the existing Navy dock.
The new strategy for the public space of Campo das Cebolas and Doca da Marinha, aims, in particular, to meet the need to promote its recovery and reinterpretation as a space of eminently playful vocation and to ensure its relationship with the consolidated city fabric.
The Navy operations will be temporarily installed in the Espanhol dock in Alcântara, in facilities provided by APL for a Period of 3 years. Until then, the new facilities will be built in Santos and there will be a major requalification of the surrounding areas.
Enhance a cluster associated with the sea
This is a project that foresees, until 2030, the urban requalification of the entire riverside area between Pedrouços (Lisbon) and Cruz Quebrada (Oeiras).
The intention is to create an international reference facility in the fields of marine, marine sciences and blue economy, recovering the connection between land and sea and giving this space public use.
The Ocean Campus intervention covers 64 hectares area and aims to enhance a development cluster associated with the sea, through a network of research, teaching and technological development units.
