The port of Lisbon has port activities on both banks of the Tagus. The handling of containerized cargo, Roll-on/Roll-off and most of the fractionated cargo is concentrated on the North margin. Terminals specialized in liquid bulk and solid bulk are installed on the south bank.

The recreational docks, on the north bank of the Tagus River (Alcântara, Santo Amaro, Belém and Bom Sucesso), have a capacity for more than 1100 vessels.

The Lisbon Marina, constituted by the recreational docks of Alcântara, Santo Amaro, Belém and Bom Sucesso, has a capacity for more than 1100 vessels.

The cruise terminals in Santa Apolónia are located next to the historic and cultural center of Lisbon.
