Gunilla sailboat visiting Lisbon

The Gunilla, a tall ship (class A) built in 1940 as a cargo ship and rebuilt in 1997 by the Swedish Sailing Training Association, arrived in Lisbon on December 10th and is docked at the Dock of Alcântara. It is the largest Swedish sailboat and is usually used as a sailing school for young people, but also for events on board.
With 3 masts and about 60 meters in total length, the Sailboat has a capacity for 38 trainees. The pedagogical project she develops has the motto “Med havet som klassrum”, that is, The sea as a classroom, and aims to give training to young people aged 16-19 who wants to obtain maritime training.
Due to its characteristics and location, Lisbon remains an important port for vessels heading south in search of better weather conditions and where they can enjoy a set of essential services during their stay in port, available by both the port authority, namely usual Pilot services and complementary services in matters of maritime safety, the Reception and Management of waste generated by ships or the supply of potable water, as by private providers licensed for the purpose. The services available in the port can be consulted at the following link: https://www.portodelisboa.pt/en/servi%C3%A7os-portu%C3%A1rios

The Gunilla, which arrived in Lisbon with only crew and trainees on board, will remain until December 23rd, the day she will sail to Tarragona, spending the Christmas period at sea.
For all Have a nice trip and Merry Christmas to all!
