SILOPOR barge - Investment in decarbonization of the Port of Lisbon

SILOPOR operates the only self-propelled barge for bulk food solids, with a capacity of 2,500 tons and its own crew, in the Port of Lisbon.
This vessel is an important part of the company's commitment to decarbonization, as each journey made takes 90 trucks off the road.
Bearing in mind that most barge journeys start at Trafaria Terminal and their destination is the north bank of the Tagus River, this operation is also particularly important for reducing traffic congestion on 25 de Abril Bridge and, consequently, reducing traffic in central Lisbon.
The Silopor barge has a Food Safety Management System that is certified in accordance with the requirements of ISO 22000:2005, guaranteeing quality for Silopor's customers.
This scheduled berthing period takes place every two years and allows for periodic inspections and interventions, maintenance, and renewal of seaworthiness certificates by the Port of Lisbon Authority.
