Santo Amaro Dock renews Blue Flag for the sixth consecutive year

The Dock of Santo Amaro at Marina de Lisboa, managed by the Port of Lisbon Authority renewed, in 2021 and for the sixth consecutive year, the Blue Flag Program (PBA) of the Blue Flag Association of Europe (ABAE).
During the next bathing season, it will be possible for 12 new beaches, two more ecotourism boats and fewer two marinas to hoist the Blue Flag. This year, ABAE announced the Blue Flag for 372 beaches, 16 Recreational Ports / Marinas and 11 Ecotourism Boats, elected by an International Jury, representing an increase of 12 Blue Flags, when compared to 2020.
Amongst the 53 countries that implement the Blue Flag Program, Portugal remained in the sixth place in 2021, considering the total number of Blue Flags awarded.
The Blue Flag award, received by the Santo Amaro Dock, for the first time, in 2015, and renewed successively since then, has contributed to a sustained growth, as well as, for the continuous development of an integrated strategy for the Marina de Lisboa. The Santo Amaro Dock is the only blue flag dock managed by a public entity.
This renewal rewarded, once again, the strategy followed by the Port of Lisbon Authority, whose goal is to create, develop and enhance conditions and business models that accompany the nautical activity, namely to improve the conditions and services available in its recreational docks.
