In December, the largest bulk cargo operation of the year was carried out at the Port of Lisbon.
The bulk carrier KOULITSA 2 unloaded 71.318.456 tons of corn from the USA at Trafaria Foodstuff Bulk Terminal (Silopor). The KOULITSA 2 is a 225 meter long ship with an impressive capacity of up to 92.370 tons of cargo.
This was one of three food bulk operations with an unloaded volume of more than 70 thousand tons, with 71.317 t and 70.266 unloaded in February and September, respectively.
The Trafaria Foodstuff Bulk Terminal is an infrastructure specialized in receiving agri-food bulk, essential for the national industry and with technology that puts it on par with the best in Europe. It has a storage capacity of 200.000 tons and an annual handling capacity of 2.200.00 tons.
