Port of Lisbon Welcomes the “YM Evolution” Ship
The Port of Lisbon welcomed the “YM Evolution” ship, which docked in Lisbon for the first time. In a small ceremony attended by Luís Antunes, representative of the line’s agent, Ibero Linhas-Transportes, Lda., a commemorative plaque was presented to the ship's captain by Ricardo Roque, member of the Board of Directors of the Port of Lisbon.
Built in 2014 at the Kaohsiung shipyards, the “YM Evolution” measures 259 meters in length, has a gross tonnage of 47,952 tons, and can carry up to 4,662 TEU containers.
The ship operates at the Alcântara Container Terminal (Yilport Liscont) and is part of a regular service run by three Asian shipping companies – COSCO, OOCL, and YANG MING – following a strategic route that includes ports in the Middle East, Greece, Italy, Morocco, and Lisbon, before heading toward Northern Europe.
