Doca de Pedrouços hosts the largest international contemporary art event in the capital city

 The Port of Lisbon will host ARCOlisboa from the 16th to the 19th of September. The Doca de Pedrouços, marked by the magnificent industrial architecture where Docapesca was installed for a long time, will host the largest international contemporary art event in the city.

The choice of this space was the result of an agreement between ARCO and the Administração do Porto de Lisboa. A decision by the co-organization, which includes the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, IFEMA and the fair's Organizing Committee, with the purpose of promoting the meeting of galleries, collectors, and international professionals.

The exhibition will be held in a place that will be the object of rehabilitation and requalification, where the OCEAN CAMPUS will be installed, a project that the Port of Lisbon aims to bring together in the same space and in an innovative way, different stakeholders of the blue economy, providing the installation of a network of research, teaching and technological development units.

The choice of the venue for the ARCO is of strategic importance, since the first edition of the fair, with the organization opting for structures with unique characteristics as an alternative to the exhibition centers generally used for this purpose.

The fifth edition of ARCOlisboa will bring together around 70 national and international galleries. Its artistic offer will express Portugal's contemporary panorama in dialogue with international proposals. The General Programme, made up of galleries selected by the Organising Committee, will once again form the backbone of the fair defined by the quality of its contents. Additionally, there will be the curated programmes.

ARCOlisboa also counts with the support of Ministério da Cultura, EGEAC, Fundação EDP, Fundação Millenium and new sponsors such as Fundação ALTICE and MEXTO - Property Investment, among others.
