From January 20 to 21, the Port of Lisbon and the Port of Setúbal will be present at the INTERCEM Shipping Forum 2025. The conference will bring together experts and professionals from the shipping and cement sectors from all over the world.
One of the central topics of the conference will be the adaptation of both sectors, cement and shipping, to their ambitious decarbonization goals. Invited speakers will discuss the impact of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism, the EEXI (Energy Efficiency eXisting ship Index), the CII (Carbon Intensity Indicator) and the EU Emissions Trading System on the shipping and cement industry. During the conference, the expected trends in the cement market in 2025 will also be analysed, as well as the evolution of freight values.
Participating in the conference as guest speakers will be Manuela Patrício, Director of Port Business and Logistics at the Port of Lisbon, and Tiago Fernandes, Director of the same area at the Port of Setúbal.
