Alkion Terminal Lisbon held, last November, at the Barreiro Liquid Bulk Terminal, the annual exercise of the Internal Emergency Plan (PEI), held in accordance with the regulation on the control and prevention of accidents involving dangerous substances. Simultaneously carried out the annual exercise of the ISPS Code - which aims to protect maritime transport, through safety measures, applied to ships and port facilities. The drills therefore covered issues of both safety and security of this port facility, in the Port of Lisbon.
A set of objectives for the promotion and internalization of concepts associated with emergency instructions and procedures associated with intervention actions, alarm and alert routines were defined, with the objective of improving the performance level in the operation. The objectives also included communications tests, the firefighting equipment  and the interaction between the different teams on the field.
The Municipal Civil Protection Service, the Voluntary Firefighters of the South and Southeast, SGL Composites and Lisbon Port Authority, among others, participated in the drills.
The overall results were very positive and the objectives were successfully achieved, which we are pleased to highlight.
