The International Day of Monuments and Sites 2021 will be celebrated on April 18, an initiative of the Direção-Geral do Património CulturaL (DGPC), in collaboration with ICOMOS Portugal, under the theme: “COMPLEX PAST, DIVERSE FUTURES”.

The choice of the topic “COMPLEX PAST, DIVERSE FUTURES” aimed to invite an analysis of the past and the material and immaterial heritage as an inheritance and reference of our identity, but also to project a more supportive and inclusive future, raising awareness among communities and audiences, reinforcing identity ties and creating new opportunities - based on the recognition of the importance of culture and heritage as elements that bring society together.
