The jurisdiction area of the Port of Lisbon is established in Article 7 of Decree-Law 336/98 dated 3 November.

 

As pertains land it covers 11 municiplaities: Oeiras, Lisboa, Loures, Vila Franca de Xira, Benavente, Alcochete, Montijo, Moita, Barreiro, Seixal and Almada, stretching along 110 km.

 

As pertains river and sea it comprehends 32500 ha with the alignment of the Torres de São Julião and Bugio as the limit downstream and Vila Franca de Xira as the limit upstream.
