Port of Lisbon continues to grow in cruise activity and new records were achieved

In 2011 Port of Lisbon registered a new record in cruise activity with 502,644 passengers and 330 cruise calls. This is the first time the port welcomes more than half a million passengers and it is a great result for Lisbon. The number of cruise calls is also a record.
These values represent an increase of 12% in terms of passengers (448,497 tourists recorded in the previous year) and 10% in terms of cruise calls (299 in 2010)

The Port of Lisbon recorded growth of 9.8% in the quantities of merchandise handled in December on a year-on-year basis and accumulated growth of over 2.7%.
Solid bulk with a major increase of 19.2% and Containerised Cargo with an increase of 9.4% were the main aspects responsible for the increase in merchandise handled in December.
