The development of the containerisation process of the port activity led to the clearing up of warehouses that were used for this type of activity. Some warehouses which were no longer being used for port activity were revitalised and this way new activities popped up. All these spaces continue to integrate the Maritime Public Domain and constitute areas of port reserve.

The revitalisation of the riverfront started in 1994 in Doca de Santo Amaro. The proximity to the river makes the riverfront an area sought after by many for setting up business. Currently, the available spaces for the attribution of the right to private use are not too many. On the next page you can find some of them and important aspects about each one.
