Amera visits Lisbon for the first time
The port of Lisbon will host, for the first time on October 15, the Amera cruise ship, which is taking an cruise of 18 nights with start in Bremerhaven, calls at Honfleur, St Malo, Bordeaux, St Jean de Luz, Bilbao, Leixões, Lisbon, Huelva, Gibraltar, Malaga, Port Mahon and St Tropez, and end at Villefranche.
Previously named Prinsendam, she was acquired by Phoenix Reisen in July 2019 to Holland America Line. Originally from Royal Viking Line in 1999 under the name Royal Viking Sun, which she had acquired by Seabourn Cruise Line in 2002 and operated under the name of Seabourn Sun.
Amera, whose renaming ceremony took place in Bremerhaven on 16 August, has been refurbishment.
Built in 1988 with a length of 205 meters and 39 051 tonnes, Amera has a maximum capacity to 835 passengers and 420 to 440 crew and will be dedicated to the German market.
To mark the first call in Lisbon, Amera will be escorted by Svitzer tugboats and the Captain will be presented with the usual commemorative plaque.
