Lisbon, destination of Le Bougainville’s maiden voyage
On June 13th, Lisbon will be the destination of the Le Bougainville’s maiden voyage, which starts on June 6 in Barcenola and calls at Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Altea and Cadiz. In the same day, Lisbon will be the departure port for a new 8-night cruise to Civitavecchia and calls in Cadiz, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Mahon and Bonifacio.
The latest ship of the French company Ponant has just been built on the VARD Shipyards in Alesund, Norway, and Tulcea, Romania, and christened on June 4th.
With 131 meters in length and 9,900 tons, the Le Bougainville has a capacity of 110 crew and can accommodate 184 passengers in 92 balcony cabins and four suites with bay windows and terraces
Le Bougainville is the third of six of the Ponant class Explorer series, and like, Le Laperouse and Le Champlain, that were in Lisbon on 13 September and 1 November 2018, respectively, is equipped with the Blue Eye lounge, an underwater lounge will allow passengers to discover and experience the underwater world that allows passengers through two eye-lookers looking at the sea bed.
The port of Lisbon will offer to the Capitan the usual commemorative plaque, and the ship will be escorted by Svitzer tug boats.
