The Port of Lisbon just achieved the award for Europe’s Leading Cruise Destination, for the city of Lisbon, at the World Travel Awards.
The WTA for Europe were announced on Saturday 17 October at Óbidos, after a vote, where for the first time, users of the WTA site were able to participate, joining thousands of tourism professionals, whose vote of quality was worth the double of that of a regular voter.

In 2008 Lisbon recorded 308 cruise calls, the greatest number ever at a national level. It also exceeded its record number of passengers verified in 2007, when more than 300 thousand people visited Lisbon aboard a cruise ship.
